It was great. Great ambience. Great service. Excellent sushi! Everything really tasted great. Sushi also offers unusual creations. Definitely not run-of-the-mill sushi! What we also noticed positively was that little rice was used, but fish was used generously. The presentation of the food also looked great. Some of the sushi was rolled completely differently than we were used to. Clearly recommended.

We had a wonderful dinner at Yama Asian Eatery. The Yakiniku pork sticks were indigestible, just bursting with flavour and paired wonderfully with the wine I was recommended. The prawn tempura was also outstanding, though if I would change anything I would just put a touch less of the sweet chili sauce. The Yari platter was excellent, especially the Salmon roses which took me by surprise. They were gentle, delicate and creamy - just an absolute delight. The Yama tower was interesting. I had never heard of someone deep frying a Sushi roll so I had to try it. It was wonderfully crunchy, but the inside was a little warm (as you’d expect), which I have now decided I actually don’t like. It was a fantastic experience though and I would recommend you try it.

The food here is simply superb. Yama clearly has a very talented and creative team in the kitchen capable of delivering classic Asian dishes using the best local ingredients.Portions are modest and light, so Yama was welcome variety after so much meat-heavy or French cuisine. The front of house team was attentive, warm and reliable. The shaded courtyard is also a beautiful setting for this memorable food.

Superb Asian restaurant in Franschhoek. If you’re looking for something other than classic French food to mix up your experience then look no further.Very up-market vibe and high end cuisine.

Top nudge asian Restaurant. All of our choices have been amazing, highlights have been been bao buns, pork belly & chrispy prawn Sushi. The service would justify 6* - Lefa did an outstanding job. All in all a must go to in Frankschoek, do a reservation.
